DBSC Pre-Season Race Training

DBSC in conjunction with UK Sailmakers and the Royal Irish Yacht Club are organising a Pre-Season Race Training day on Saturday, 19th April.

The event will be hosted in the Royal Irish Yacht Club, who are providing Breakfast from 9am.
Following the de-briefing, there will be live Music with a BBQ from 4pm and Live Rugby all afternoon.

All keelboats are welcome; pick up tips, tricks, and advice to get the most from your sails in 2025.
 
The morning starts at 11am in the Royal Irish Yacht Club with a briefing followed by on the water training to include:
 
Windward Leeward course simulations with between three and five starts (depending on numbers)
 
UK Sailmakers and Offshore Racing Academy crew will be on the water, observing and videoing boats at:
 
    Start line
 
   > beating to the weather mark
 
    >mark rounding
 
    >spinnaker trim
 
The afternoon continues with a de-brief, discussion, and video footage on mark rounding, start line tactics, and sail trim. The team will look at improving performance based on what they saw on the water. Debrief will be held in RIYC Library.
 
This day is for all boats no matter if they are season winners or just starting out, all crew and boats will benefit from the day.
