RIYC were delighted to host the Feva class Easterns last weekend 21st and 22nd April and we welcomed competitors from Blessington, Greystones, Howth and The Royal St George. Day 1 had 3 races which were held in ideal conditions, a really nice wind, and plenty of sunshine which was a bonus for all volunteers and committee boat as well. The results proved some close racing and results were tight at the top, so it was all to race for on day 2.

Day 2 saw the wind blow up a bit and a decision was made to hold racing inside the harbour, the conditions proved quite challenging for most of the sailors. We were able to get 3 races complete and the winning boat came down to the last race which proved a very exciting and competitive finish.

We were delighted to present our own Tim Norwood and Finn Cleary with the Eastern Trophy and in close 2nd was the duo from Howth Tom O’Neill and Adam Walsh and 3rd went to a Blessington boat Lily Throup and Sibeal Nic Gola Coda

Thank you to the Committee Boat and Michael Tyrrell Race Officer, and all the volunteers from RIYC for making the event a success, fun and competitive. A super start to a summer of sailing.
