RIYC Junior Section has long been the entry point for children into the sport of sailing.  Our courses run from Tuesday 5th June to 10th August and the programme is always well supported - Course three is fully booked, book now for course four & five!

Course details, prices and charter information can be found on the booking form.  For more details contact our Sailing Services Manager Mark McGibney.

Children are tutored in the ISA Small Boat Sailing Scheme (SBSS) with progress awards made based on formal assessment throughout the summer.  Each sailor's progress and sailing history is recorded in their Irish Sailing (ISA) Sailing Passport (this has been online since 2016).  The passport is unique to each sailor and all sail training at any Irish Sailing (ISA) approved training centre will be recorded here.  More details on the ISA Sailing Passport are available at Irish Sailing (www.sailing.ie)
Children may enter Junior Section as the child, or grandchild of a member.

In order to encourage participation, we invite members to introduce their friends to the Club, we allow the children of non-members to participate in Junior Section for one three-week period under the 'Friends & Family' scheme. Thereafter, the parents/guardians are required to put themselves forward for election as Ordinary Members and upon election their children can be enrolled in Junior Section, and as Junior Members if they wish.
